After all of the hard work on Big Hero 6 was done, we got to celebrate at the wrap party. We got all dressed up in our Hollywood best for the big night!
We stayed at the Loews Hotel again, but this year we had an upgraded view!
There were legit taiko drummers present to open the festivities at the Dolby Theater (the same venue that hosts the Oscars) before studio leadership and the film’s directors came out to thank the cast and crew.
Then we got to see the finished film! It was a pretty amazing experience to see the result of about twenty months of labor up on the big screen, and seeing Brandon’s name in the credits was a dream come true that we will never forget. There was even a surprise part of the movie that almost no one in the crew knew about! When the film was over it was time to head to the ballroom for the real party. We ate and drank and danced the night away until they turned all the lights on and kicked us out.
Justin and Brandon were undergraduate computer science students together at Texas A&M, and now they work together at Disney. From code party to wrap party – whoop!
Last year’s Frozen wrap party was fun, but nothing compares to the feeling of celebrating your first feature film credit!
